The Kremlin is not interested in the fact that the Minsk agreements on the situation in the Donbass earned although we minimal. In an interview with Russian radio station Echo of Moscow said foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

“Russia today is not interested in the implementation of Minsk. What is happening today is a complete failure of Russia to do anything in the field of security. And I do mean anything. It is a complete unwillingness to exercise at least a little bit of openness,” he said.

The foreign Minister also said the reluctance of Russia to work “at least” for monitoring the part of the Ukrainian-Russian border not controlled by Ukraine.

“And it goes through the stream and regular troops, and weapons and ammunition. It is the same logic that existed a year ago… I agree with Frank-Walter (Steinmeier, – ed.), that, unfortunately, in the sphere of implementation of Minsk made a lot less than we would like,” he explained.

Klimkin also said that Normandy format is the ability to create a road map for implementing the Minsk – 2 and not allow the Russian Federation to withdraw from the implementation of the agreements through the fixation of a sequence of actions and guarantees for each party.

“It’s not the format. We can get together more often, we can think about what to do in parallel… But we need Russia’s desire not to play politically in a space, and begin to implement Minsk. For me, the implementation of the Minsk means that we stop shooting, we gradually transfer the real control of the situation, the OSCE, and Russia is physically out of the Donbass”, – he concluded.
