The policy of the Kremlin there is an element of political schizophrenia. About it, said foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, commenting on the provocative initiative of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the introduction of peacekeepers on the demarcation line in the Donbas, UKRINFORM writes.
“This is the expected manipulation, first of all, is that Russia is committed to the recognition that it has supported terrorists in the occupied part of Donbass. This is a vain attempt to translate the entire peace process in some kind of virtual reality. And break all what we have achieved during this time with the help of our partners,” Klimkin said.
According to him, the second manipulation is an attempt to deploy peacekeepers along the line of contact.
“This is the real way to freeze the existing situation. So here we see Russia’s desire to legalize its colony, a protectorate in the occupied part of Donbass. Moreover, I see this and part of a kind of political schizophrenia. Moscow allegedly declared the desire to help the OSCE mission SMM (special monitoring mission – ed.). But how? Placing peacekeepers along the line of demarcation!” – said Klimkin
He believes that in this case it will only complicate the work of the SMM because it is impossible to have two missions with different territorial mandate.
“It’s so crazy that at the same time funny and sad… But all of us, members of the UN, everything here is well understood. In practice the UN has never been, to support the aggression,” – said Klimkin.
