In Ukraine, one in eight children suffered from military operations in the East of the country. This was reported by the presidential Commissioner for children’s rights Mykola Kuleba, reports UKRINFORM.

“Today, one in eight children affected by the conflict in the East (of Ukraine – ed.). 600 thousand children living in the occupied territories. Nearly 250 thousands of children displaced. And 100 thousand children live in the contact zone,” – said Kuleba.

He said, currently, the child population in Ukraine is 7.6 million people.

20 February 2016 children’s Fund, the United Nations said that in Ukraine, about 200 thousand children, who live in the temporarily occupied territories, in need of psychological help.
