Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that the implementation mechanism entered into force, the Ukrainian law on education should be discussed directly with the national minorities living in Ukraine. He said this during a briefing in Bucharest.

“Today, the law we made an exception for the EU languages – subjects can be studied also in the languages of the EU, it is clearly written in the education law. The mechanism of implementation it is important to discuss with our Romanian friends and partners, but above all, it is important to discuss with the communities because we are talking about communities,” – said Klimkin.

According to the Minister, at the meetings in Bucharest also talked about the possibility of joint visits of the Romanian communities in Ukraine, possibly with the participation of parliamentarians and representatives of ministries of education. Also, according to klimkina, the implementation of the law will take into account the position of the Venice Commission.

Recall, despite yesterday’s conversation in Budapest with Klimkin about the new Ukrainian law on education, his Hungarian counterpart péter Szijjártó still insists on the “need” to make document edits due to “violations of the rights of ethnic Hungarians” in Transcarpathia.
