The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the Kremlin will be “tough response” to actions that “harm” Russia. He said this, commenting on the US decision on the reduction of the diplomatic staff of the Russian Federation in the country, reports RIA Novosti.

“We will firmly respond to those things that cause us the damage is absolutely out of the blue and are dictated only by the desire to spoil our relations with the United States,” said Lavrov.

Thus, according to him, Russia is not interested in conflict with the United States.

“As the President said time and again, we seek no quarrel with this country. We were always friendly to the American people, and now opened for constructive interaction where it meets the Russian interests”, – said the head of the foreign Ministry.

July 8, 2017 Russia demanded that the United States has taken steps to reduce the number of American diplomats in Russia and technical personnel to 455 people.

During yesterday’s conversation on this topic with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson Lavrov said that Moscow would react to the closure of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and two other diplomatic facilities after studying the declared American actions.
