In the event personal safety and the investigation of the alleged attempted murder of ex-dictator Viktor Yanukovych is ready to arrive in Ukraine to participate in the trial. This broadcast channel 112 Ukraine said his lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk.

The lawyer confirmed that the protection was called to the Prosecutor’s office.

“We have information about the call the next day to carry out certain procedural actions. For this reason personally Viktor Yanukovych signed the open letter to the GPU, that tomorrow will be filed and released to the public,” he said.

Answering the question under what conditions ex-President personally come to court, Serdyuk said:

“He will take part in the consideration of the case (of treason – ed.), despite the reluctance of the leaders of the GPU. But at this time, since the beginning of things, it will remotely. Defense is doing everything as quickly as possible had completed investigation in the case of the attempted murder of Yanukovych. If this is the case will still be investigated, will be installed face and the government can provide security, he will participate personally in this matter”.

24 January Serdyuk said that Yanukovych will not come on interrogation in the Ukraine, because “he feared for his life.”

Earlier, the PGO said that they intend to give the lawyers of Yanukovych clarified the suspicion of treason. It was noted that the changes associated with the request of Yanukovych, the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine. The lawyers refused to accept the clarification of treason.

28 November 2016, the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko to Svyatoshynsky district court of Kyiv announced the notification about the suspected Yanukovych of treason.

On 15 December the Pechersky district court of Kiev allowed to detain Yanukovych and deliver it to the court, 20 January the court gave permission for correspondence investigation against the former dictator.
