Parliament Commissioner for human rights Valeria Lutkovska said that the deportation of Georgian citizens from Ukraine took place with violations of legislation and European conventions. She said this today at a press conference, reports Hromadske.
According to Lutkovska, the production has been launched against the detainees on 21 October and 17 November the citizens of Georgia.
She recalled that on 21 October in the framework of the operation “Migrant” police arrested three Georgian citizens, who were in Kiev with the violation of immigration laws.
“Previously it was, Arsenije, Makishvili and Abashvili. There is no evidence that Migration service has notified these citizens that they must leave the country”, noted Lutkovska.
According to the Ombudsman, in the day of his arrest, 21 October, the detainees were expelled to the territory of Georgia the plane, which is at the disposal of law enforcement agencies.
“The decision on forced deportation may be challenged in court, but such a possibility these folks have provided, that is a violation,” said Lutkovska.
She also said that the detainees were not given the opportunity to use the services of a lawyer or interpreter.
“They are not allowed to come back here for 3 years. Violation of article 5 of the European Convention. Were not followed legal procedures”, – said Lutkovska.
She said that will require a response from the Prosecutor General.
On 17 November, the interior Ministry reported about the detention and deportation from Ukraine of a group of aliens who are allegedly involved in activities of criminal groups and were in the country illegally.
