The former head of the election headquarters of Donald trump by Paul Manafort may be involved in the cancellation of the signing of Ukraine’s Association with EU in 2013. It is reported by McClatchy.

In July 2013, Manafort flew with a former consultant Yanukovych Konstantin Kilimnik to Frankfurt in a private jet Deputy Andrey Artemenko.

29 April 2017, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree suspended the Ukrainian citizenship for Artemenko – he stated that he is a citizen of Canada.May 16, the Verkhovna Rada ahead of schedule stopped powers as a Deputy Artemenko.

American experts believe that the trip could be a prelude to the extension of Russian influence, aimed at the refusal of Yanukovych from signing the agreement.

Even after the escape of Yanukovych in February 2014, Manafort over the next 20 months at least 19 times flew to Kiev. In particular, he worked with the Opposition bloc and invited the party to take a position against NATO.

October 30 Manafort, which is one of the main defendants in the investigation of spectracolor USA Robert Mueller about the possibility of Russia’s intervention in the American elections, surrendered to Federal authorities.

He is accused on 12 counts, including: conspiracy against the United States (probably talking about relations with the Russians during the American elections); working as a foreign agent without being registered; money laundering (transfers to foreign accounts, including in Cyprus and the Seychelles), evasion from payment of taxes.
