U.S. Senator John McCain said that in case the decision of the President of the United States Donald trump to cancel or reduce the sanctions against Russia, he will seek to turn them into law. This McCain said in Facebook.
“The news about the planned call Donald trump, Vladimir Putin amid growing speculation that the White house is considering lifting sanctions against Russia. For the sake of U.S. national security and our allies, I hope that President trump would put an end to this speculation and abandon this reckless course,” said the Senator.
“If he does not, I will and his colleagues to work in order to codify sanctions against Russia into law,” said McCain.
As you know, the US sanctions against Russia are at the level of the presidential decree.
Earlier today, the journalist of the edition of Politico Susan Glasser reported that team President trump has prepared a draft decree on the possible withdrawal (or commutation) of sanctions against Russia.
