The party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian democratic Union (CDU – ed.) rejected the idea of re-debate with the head of the Social democratic party of Germany (SPD – ed.), Martin Schultz. About this reports Deutsche Welle.
“On this subject says it all. Angela Merkel willingly took part in the debate. This format has shown its value,” – said today the party Secretary-General Peter Tauber.
Schulz demanded that Merkel debate rematch after debate on 3 September, which did not influence significantly on the support of the parties before the elections to the Bundestag. However, even before the Chancellor rejected the idea of holding a repeat of the debate.
