The share of cashless payments in the total volume of operations using payment cards in Ukraine according to the results of the third quarter of 2017 was 38.6% and increased from the beginning of the year by 3.1%. The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on the official website.

The total number of transactions using payment cards issued by Ukrainian banks for the first three quarters of 2017 to 2.22 billion units, and their volume of 1.46 trillion UAH. Compared to the same period in 2016, the figures increased respectively by 22.2% and 29%, says NBU.

The regulator also reports a steady increase in what non – cash payments by number of transactions by 29.5% and volume of 41.6% compared to the same period in 2016.

The distribution of non-cash operations using payment cards for the third quarter of 2017 shows that by volume the greatest amount of non-cash transactions account for transactions on the Internet (39%), and the number of calculations in distribution networks (52.4 per cent).

According to the results of the third quarter of 2017 compared with the beginning of the year increased the total number of:
active payment cards – by 5.2%, to 34.1 million units;
payment cards with magnetic stripe and chip by 91% to $ 7.5 million;
contactless payment cards – by 22.9% and amounted to almost 2.4 million units.

As of October 1, Ukraine had 82 member-Bank card payment systems.
