Revised amount of claims to Naftogaz of Ukraine demanding from Gazprom to retroactively change rates, to refund overpayments and cancellation of the ban on the resale of gas under the contract, amounted to over $14.23 billion, according to the statements of Russian companies under IFRS.

“Specified amount requirements of Naftogaz of Ukraine PJSC Gazprom amounted to over $14.23 billion dollars”, – the report says. It is reported that the oral hearing scheduled for September-October 2016, a decision by the arbitrators is planned before the end of March 2017.

Recall, according to NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine, the total amount of claims to Gazprom in the framework of consideration at the Arbitration Institute of Stockholm chamber of Commerce is $26.6 bln.

As was stated by the head of Naftogaz Andrey Kobelev, the decisions of international arbitration of both lawsuits is expected in early 2017. According to KOBOLEV, the hearings on the contract of purchase/sale is scheduled for the end of September, according to the transit contract – by the end of November – beginning of December.

Earlier, Naftogaz said that Ukraine may get $50 billion from Russia’s Gazprom after the claim to NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy to the Stockholm arbitration.

Gazprom and Naftogaz sue in the Stockholm arbitration court in June 2014. Items lawsuits are contracts for the supply of natural gas from Russia to Ukraine and gas transit through Ukraine from 2009.

In the framework of the transit of the claim of Naftogaz, Gazprom filed a counter-claim for payment allegedly “unauthorized ” settled” on the territory of Ukraine volumes of gas. Also, Gazprom has included in its claims to the Ukrainian company the amount of the alleged shortage of gas in the third quarter of 2015.
