In the Odessa region on the border section of one of the main gas pipelines of the Balkan area during the inspection showed a crack on the body of the pipe, resulting in gas leak, according to operational information of the Central dispatch Department of PJSC Ukrtransgaz.

As the press service of Naftogaz, the transit of natural gas to Moldova and the Balkan countries is carried out promptly and in full, and the gas transportation system of Ukraine is operating normally.

For reliable Troubleshooting decided to replace the damaged section on the new pipe. Now formed the plan of carrying out of fire works. According to preliminary estimates, for work can take up to 8 days.

The beginning of hot work planned Tuesday. During these works will be reduced, the pressure at the outlet of the gas transportation system of Ukraine to the Balkans, what was made known to contractors and operators GTS neighbouring countries.

The pipeline is in the vicinity of the state border, and repairs will need to cut the pipeline with a length of 12 kilometers, using the linear valve, which is located on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

The situation poses no risk to inhabitants of surrounding settlements.
