NATO members are considering sending to Afghanistan, additional forces the mission “Resolute support”. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg, reports Deutsche Welle.
The final decision will be made in June of this year. Some NATO members also support the extension of the mandate every year, as is happening now, and for a longer period of time.
Now in Afghanistan is about 13 thousand soldiers of the Alliance. They are not involved in hostilities, and engaged in the exercises and consulting.
On 24 April it was reported that the number of victims of the Taliban attack on a military base in the heart of the Afghan city of Mazar-I-Sharif could be as many as 200 people.
