The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has confirmed the information on holding this morning the searches at the residence of the Deputy head of the NBU Catherine Rozhkova and characterizes it as an act of pressure on the NBU staff. This reports the press service of the regulator.
“At the moment the search is finished. Ekaterina Rozhkova is in the workplace and perform their duties,” – said the NBU.
The NBU clarifies that the national police carried out searches at Rozhkova in the investigation of the bankruptcy of the Bank Michael.
“The Board of the National Bank believes that these actions are another act of pressure on the officials of the NBU. All decisions about the allocation of the Bank Mikhailovsky insolvent made collectively by the management Board of the NBU in full compliance with the current legislation”, – reads the statement of the press service.

According to the Chairman of the NBU Valeria Gontareva, the damage caused by the owner of the Bank Mikhailovsky, Viktor Polishchuk, estimated at 23 billion UAH.
The Kyiv Prosecutor’s office suspects the former Chairman of the Board Mikhailovsky Igor Doroshenko in the theft of 870 million UAH of Bank funds and bringing the Bank to insolvency. He is charged with committing crimes envisaged by part 5 of article 191 of the criminal code article 218-1.
On 23 may, the NBU Board adopted the decision on the classification of Bank St. Michael in the category insolvent. In July, the Deposit guarantee Fund began the liquidation of the Bank.
