At the end of 2017, inflation will deviate from the center point of the target range of 8% +/- 2 percentage points, reports the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

“This year inflation will decrease slower than expected in the July forecast (9.1%). Accordingly, inflation more significantly deviates from the center point of the target range of 8% +/- 2 percentage points by the end of 2017,” – says the NBU.

By the end of the year inflation in annual terms will tend to slow down. This is due to the high base of comparison last year.

Consumer inflation in August was 16.2% in annual terms.

NBU notes that the consumer price index on a monthly measure declined 0.1% due to seasonal cheapening of fruits and vegetables, clothes and shoes.

Earlier it was reported that in August in Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the year deflation. Prices in the consumer market in August compared to the previous month decreased by 0.1% since the beginning of the year increased by 8.1%.

According to Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, the growth of prices in Ukraine affect the prices of imports and seasonal fluctuations in the price of goods.
