The share of cashless payments in the total volume of transactions with payment cards in Ukraine continued to grow in the second quarter. The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on the official website.

The figure increased to 34.9% compared to 34.7% in the first quarter of this year, said the NBU. The most popular were translations from card to card – 50,17%. The calculations in retail sales and service network had 35,97% of all cashless transactions. The share of transactions for payment of goods and services using the Internet made up 11.03%, and with the use of ATMs and self-service terminals – 2,83%.

On the Ukrainian payment market share of payment systems on the volume of expenditure transactions using payment cards were the following: 61,3% – MasterCard; 38,1% – Vіsa; 0,6% – other payment systems.

In the second quarter of 2016 in Ukraine, there were 41.3 million cardholders, treatment was 57.5 million payment cards, of which 30.9 million are active (53.7 per cent). The number of active payment cards increased by 166 thousand compared to the first quarter of this year.
