Provided to the Viktor Yanukovych government lawyer Maxim Gerasim said that during a trip to Rostov-na-Donu was not able to meet with his client. This lawyer said in comments to the Ukrainian truth.
“With Yanukovych Mr Yanukovych had failed to meet, it wasn’t there. However, found his address and house, he lives there, was able to speak with the guards, left the statement that he contacted me, credentials and a business card,” he said Gerasim.
According to the lawyer, he was in Rostov from 8 to 12 October, twice came to the place of registration of Yanukovych, but it failed.
“I came twice… the 9-th and 11-th result is the same – “not yet”. My client does not report the security when departing and arriving. However, security (police) made it clear that my documents will be transferred to Yanukovych immediately upon arrival. As the court in a hurry, continuing to assign in a short time, I forced to return to Kyiv”, – said Gerasim.
The lawyer said that he was not informed about the whereabouts of Yanukovych, but the guards claim that he lives in Rostov-on-don at the address previously specified by the lawyers of the former dictator, street Eremenko, 81.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t leave a phone number so I could gain a client. And because waiting response from client”, – said Gerasim.
According to counsel, to gather information, he also produced and directed few law requests to the Rostov regional court, the Ministry of justice, the General Directorate of the police Federation.
As explained by the attorney, without a meeting and approval of the legal position in the future, the interests of Yanukovych, it is impossible, because it would violated the right to protection.

“The statements of the Prosecutor about the alleged delaying of the case contradicted the law of Ukraine on free legal aid and do not correspond to reality,” he said.
The question is, at whose expense he went to Russia, Gerasim said, “the Court publicly before my trip promised to compensate the cost so I invested my own funds, but we hope that, as the public commitments should be complied with, will receive compensation.”
At the same time, the lawyer did not specify the amount of money spent on a weekly trip.
Gerasko added that all this time was in Rostov, and his way lay through Belarus and Moscow, as direct flights from Russia there.
October 5, 2017 the court in the case of Yanukovych, announced a break until 11 October after Gerasko showed documents and tickets for a trip to a fugitive client in Russia.
On October 11 in the absence of counsel, the meeting was postponed again to October 19, 2017.
