The Hungarian government will provide Ukrainian students with scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year to continue their studies in Hungary. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of education and science.

Scholarships will be allocated in accordance with the program of educational exchange between the Ministry of education of Ukraine and the Ministry of human resources of Hungary for the years 2016-2018.

It is noted that the scholarships will be distributed as follows:

– 40 scholarships for bachelor and master programmes in the Humanities, social science, technical and medical areas of training;

– 20 scholarships for master’s programs full-cycle technical and medical fields;

– 40 scholarships for graduate studies in any industry.

Training programs are available in English and Hungarian, and some are also available in German and French.

Applications can be submitted online until February 16, 2018.

Recently in relations between Ukraine and Hungary tensions caused by the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada in September 2017 of the education law, according to which the representatives of national minorities (including the Hungarians) will be able to receive education in their native language along with the state only in preschool and elementary school.

8 Dec 2017 Venice Commission in its conclusions on the Ukrainian educational law, said about the justification of his criticism in terms of education in the languages of national minorities, but noted that the legislation has a framework character, which gives an opportunity for Ukraine to adjust its position.
