The Palestinians froze all official contacts with Washington after the administration of Donald trump threatened closure of a representative office of the Palestine liberation Organization (PLO) in the us capital. This Palestinian foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said on Tuesday, reports Deutsche Welle referring to AFP.

“What’s the use of arranging any meetings, if they close our office?” – said al-Maliki.

According to him, his statement that he only gave a formal step, which stemmed from the position of the American side.

The threat of Washington were a response to the desire of Palestinians to hold Israel accountable before the International criminal court for Jewish settlement.

Meanwhile, on 21 November in Cairo started the intra-Palestinian political dialogue with representatives of 13 Palestinian factions aimed at promoting efforts at reconciliation of the parties.

The US state Department needs to regularly issue new permits for continued operation of the PLO mission. The current term ends in November 2017, and Washington may not extend. However Donald trump may approve the continued operation of the PLO office, if within 90 days you will be convinced that “the Palestinians have entered into direct and substantive negotiations with Israel.”

Earlier, Secretary General of the PLO Saeb Erakat said that bilateral relations between the US and Palestine can be suspended for 90 days – for such period expected closure of the PLO in the capital of the USA. He believes the solution States strong impact on their relationship.
