The Verkhovna Rada took into account amendments of the President of Ukraine, when adopting the law on amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning reduction of the deficit of ferrous scrap in the domestic market. Thus, the effect of export duty on scrap metal is extended for one year, not two as in the previous version of the law. The correspondent reports about it LIGA.net.

For a decision voted 247 deputies.

July 8, the Parliament, adopting the same law, extended for two years the effect of the export duty on wastes and scrap of ferrous metals EUR 30/t.

This decision caused negative reaction of the EU delegation to Ukraine, which stated that Ukraine is not fulfilling its obligations in the sphere of international trade.

July 10, the President’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko stated that the President will return the bill with his amendments.
