The decision on the entry of Russians to Ukraine only on biometric passports does not remove the question of introducing a visa regime with Russia. This was stated by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy at a briefing, answering questions of journalists, the correspondent of LIGA.net.
“I welcome the decision of the NSDC on the introduction of biometric passports. The step aims to control the entry of Russian citizens in Ukraine. But this does not reduce the relevance of the full-fledged introduction of visas for Russian citizens. So I will keep this issue under control and to look for supporters. I hope there we will also be able to find a positive solution,” he said.
June 1, 2017, the Secretary of the NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov said that the visa regime with the state-occupier Russia, enter “ASAP”. Justice Minister Pavel Petrenko said that the legal mechanisms of introduction of a visa regime with the Russian Federation is ready.
