Polish company Pesa has finished at its production site in Bydgoszcz Assembly of the first of the 40 trams, which will produce on the order of Kiev. It is planned that the entire order will be completed before the end of this year, CTS reports, citing Polish media.
Pesa in July 2017 has won a tender to supply 40 trams to Kiev bypassing the Ukrainian-German enterprise Electron. The transaction amounts to 61 million euros or 1,813 billion.
Earlier, the Ukrainian media spread information that collects Pesa trams for Kiev, not in Poland, and in Russia. The company rejected these charges and claim that the whole process of Assembly takes place on the territory of Poland. While in Pesa recognized that in the manufacture of trams are used parts from other manufacturers. In particular, the Russian Uralvagonzavod supplies glass.
In 2016 Pesa has put Kiev in 10 low-floor trams. They are now used on the right Bank of the light rail line, shuttling between the train station and the residential area Borschagivka.
Earlier it was reported that Pesa opens in Kyiv factory for the production of trams.
