President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with heads of law enforcement agencies in connection with a sharp aggravation of the situation in the area of Avdeevka in Donetsk region. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.
“I want to reassure citizens. Our soldiers of 72 brigade and other units brilliantly defending the position. They have no authority to respond to a withering fire. The Ukrainian military are able to protect themselves,” said the President.
Poroshenko instructed the Deputy head of the presidential administration Konstantin Eliseev immediately bring the issue to the Town for consideration by the UN security Council. “Today, we are waiting for the statements from our international partners,” – said Poroshenko.
He stressed that for the first time in many days the invaders used against the civilian population in the Donbass Grads. “If someone turn the language to talk about lifting sanctions, what else is needed in order to bring the aggressor to justice?”, the President emphasized.

The President also instructed the Minister of defense Stepan Poltorak and chief of General staff Viktor Muzhenko to prepare materials and submit to the awarding of names of Ukrainian soldiers who distinguished themselves during the fighting.
The President particularly stressed the need for conferring state awards of those who heroically gave his life protecting the peace and tranquility of Ukrainian citizens.
