President Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.

Poroshenko told genscreen NATO’s escalation of the situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as increasing of number of Russian provocations in the occupied Donbas and Crimea.

The head of state urged to keep the issue of Russian aggression against Ukraine on the agenda of the Alliance. Stoltenberg stressed the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Comprehensive package of assistance to NATO for Ukraine, approved at the Alliance’s summit in Warsaw.

The President expressed the hope that this package will help modernize the Ukrainian army to NATO standards.

The NATO Secretary General also congratulated the President on the Independence Day of Ukraine.
