International Ukraine’s foreign exchange reserves now exceed $18 billion. this was announced by the President Petro Poroshenko, speaking in Parliament with the annual message to the Verkhovna Rada, the correspondent of LIGA.net.

“Every penny, which Ukraine received from the IMF – want to dispel another myth – every penny is carefully stored in foreign exchange reserves of the state. Today, those reserves exceed $18 billion And this despite the fact that half of the interest we paid on borrowings. Let me remind you that in February 2015, the reserves fell to $5 billion for those a little more than two years we filled up the state Treasury more than $13 billion,” – said the head of state.

Informed in the National Bank of Ukraine reported that the reserves exceeded $18 billion for the first time in three years, and since the beginning of the current year they increased by 16%.

As of September 1 the volume of international reserves cover at 3.6 months of future imports is sufficient to meet the obligations and current operations of the government and the National Bank, assured the regulator.
