President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on basic principles of ensuring cyber security of Ukraine. About it reports a press-service of the President.
The law determines legal and organizational basis of protection of vital interests of man and citizen, society and state, Ukraine’s national interests in cyberspace, as well as the powers and responsibilities of state bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, entities and citizens, fundamental principles of coordination of their activities and basic terminology in the field of cybersecurity.
The document defines the main objects of cyber security, which constitute the critical infrastructure of the country, the principles of cybersecurity and the national system of cyber security.
According to the law, the President coordinates the activities in the field of cybersecurity through his national security Council and defense.
The law takes into account the number of proposals of NATO and the EU.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on cyber security October 5, 2017. The law shall enter into force six months after publication.
Earlier it was reported that on 25 may, the Rada failed to adopt a law on cybersecurity.
