The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law according to which Ukraine acceded to the Convention on pan-Euro-Med, expanding the volume of duty-free exports to the EU of goods of goods of Ukrainian producers. This is stated in the press service of the head of state.

“Joining the Convention will help to simplify the terms of trade and increase of export potential of Ukraine, will strengthen trade relations and economic integration with the European Union”, – stated in the message.

The Convention of pan-Euro-Med gives you the opportunity to use products raw materials or components produced in countries that are members of the agreement, and export them as their own products.

It is also reported that the possibility of Ukraine’s accession to the Regional Convention on pan-Euro-Mediterranean preferential rules of origin provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The process of accession began in 2016.

As notes a press-service of the President, today the participants are 24 Contracting parties, six of which already have free trade agreements with Ukraine (EU, EFTA, Montenegro, Macedonia, Moldova, Georgia). With two States parties to continue negotiations on free trade, namely with Turkey and Israel.
