President Petro Poroshenko does not exclude the announcement of the mobilization and introduction of martial law in case of aggravation of the situation in the ATO zone and Crimea. The head of state declared it during communication with journalists in Lviv oblast, reports his press-service.

“Today, we have a sharp aggravation of the situation in the Crimea and in the East. And in the East, the situation changed dramatically”, – said Poroshenko.

The head of state stressed that “in the last ten days heavy artillery of terrorists has at the headquarters and warehouses located at a distance of 20-25 kilometers from the contact line deep into the territory”.

Poroshenko said that the attacks carried out artillery crews of troops of the Russian Federation, which “purposefully come to kill Ukrainians”.

He stressed that defence and security remain a top priority.

“If it is to continue worsening, it is my decree and declared mobilization and martial law, because there is nothing more important than Ukraine, of Ukraine’s independence, our freedom and democracy does not exist”, – said Poroshenko.

The head of state noted that “while no wave of mobilization is not declared.”

Earlier, Poroshenko said that on his behalf the chief of the General staff Viktor Muzhenko is in the area ATO, Ukraine’s Armed Forces ready to repel Russian hybrid army on the front line and in any direction.
