The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had issued the order on ceasefire on Donbass from April 1 to the General staff of the Armed Forces and Ministry of defence. He said this, answering the journalists ‘ question about whether the Ukrainian side to implement the progress of the Minsk agreements, reports Ukrainian Pravda.
“I gave all the necessary commands to the General staff and the defense Minister,” – said the head of state.
Poroshenko added that the Ukrainian side proposed to establish a cease-fire on 1 April.
“This once again refutes Russian claims about the position of the Ukrainian side, who allegedly are not ready for peace. On the contrary, consistently all three years we do not just declare, we prove that the Ukrainian side to ensure the ceasefire regime, withdrawal of Russian troops, gaining control over the uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border and restore Ukrainian sovereignty over the occupied Donbas and Crimea”, – said the President.
On 29 March it was reported that the participants of the Minsk process agreed to ensure full compliance with the ceasefire regime, which will enter into force on 1 April 2017.
