The opposing Russian aggression, Ukraine calls upon the free Nations to prevent the revival of totalitarian empires. This is stated in the appeal of the President of Petro Poroshenko on the occasion of the International day of remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust, published on the website of the President.

On January 27 the world celebrates the international day of remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust, established by decision of the UN General Assembly on 1 November 2005.

“Ukraine, which lost tens of millions of its sons and daughters of different nationalities as a result of the crimes of totalitarianism, is now opposed to the Russian aggression, defending the borders of the democratic world. We call on all free Nations to prevent the revival of totalitarian empires, ideologies, and practices that give rise to crimes against humanity,” he said.

In September 2016, Poroshenko said that during the Second world war, the Ukraine is the fault of the German fascist invaders lost 60% of the Jewish population.
