The head of state noted that one of the main issues during his talks with Belarusian President was a safety issue.

“I have no doubt exceptionally good intentions of Belarus. But it is allied relations with Russia, and to Moscow, we no trust no. So for me it was extremely important that I got a firm assurance from the head of the Belarusian state that the planned Belarusian-Russian strategic exercises Zapad-2017 near the Ukrainian border will not turn into the Russian Federation of springboard for the invasion of Ukraine”, – he said.

According to Poroshenko, the presidents agreed to soon complete the process of demarcation of the state border, which will be an additional factor increasing the security of the two countries.
