The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis promised to change the education legislation only after consultation with the Romanian minority. About Iohannis told reporters in Brussels.
“I asked the President Poroshenko took it that any further changes or enhancements of this legislation, as it related to the Romanian minority, will be made only after bilateral consultations with the Romanian authorities and the representatives of the Romanian minority in Ukraine,” said Iohannis.
According to him, the President Poroshenko has promised that Ukraine will fulfill the recommendations of the Venice Commission on the law. He added that the language law is worried about Romania, but he hopes for a solution to this problem.

“We optimistically expect that we will find good and decent solution”, concluded Iohannis.
September 25 Poroshenko has signed the law of Ukraine No. 2145 – VIII on education, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 5 September 2017.
