Yesterday’s incident at the checkpoint shehyni, where he held the illegal breakthrough of the Polish-Ukrainian border by a group of people headed the opposition ex-Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili and the deputies, “doesn’t require any political commentary”, and the guards had the right to open fire. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko, his opinion published on the website of the President.
“In my opinion, this incident doesn’t require any political commentary. We should comment and we will comment on (this situation – ed.) exclusively in the legal field”, – he said.
Poroshenko recalled that on July 26 he issued a decree that terminated the citizenship of Saakashvili on the basis of representation of the State migration service, which “clearly set out the proven facts of forgery and providing false information” when they receive citizenship.
According to the President, Saakashvili has the right to appeal “any normative act in the administrative court”.
“The President could not accept any other solution, because that would be a criminal omission, if we omit these facts without response. I, as President, will fulfill any court decision. Don’t like the decision of the Ukrainian courts – is the European court of human rights. It is legal,” he said.
Poroshenko also said that since the signing of the decree “no one in the court is not addressed”.
“Instead, the crime was committed. Because there is the constitutional principle of the inviolability of the state border. It is a matter of national security. I don’t care who violates the border, militants in the East or the politicians in the West. Should be a very clear legal responsibility”, – said the President.
Poroshenko drew attention to the fact that the guards did the right thing, not using weapons, although “had every right” to its use.
Completed a review about the scandal Poroshenko said: “I hope the Lord in due time will be the same and with the same eagerness to get to Georgia, as he tried to get to Ukraine.
