The Communist idols and there is no place in Ukraine, said President Petro Poroshenko in his speech at the event dedicated to the Day of memory of victims of political repression.

Poroshenko said that the OSCE parliamentary Assembly eight years ago adopted a resolution on the identity of the Nazi and Stalinist regimes, and proposed to celebrate in one day in memory of victims of Stalinism and Nazism.

“That’s why, if someone does not understand, in the last three years in Ukraine, we are the de-communization. And that’s why a so-called leninopad, and that’s why purified map of Ukraine from the names of its executioners and murderers, and that’s why they updated the signs with the street names. Because the Communist idols and there is no place in our country”, – said Poroshenko.

May 10, in the Lviv region, a court sentenced a man to two and a half years of restriction of freedom with a one-year probation for distribution through the social network Facebook, pictures and other materials with symbols of the Communist regime and a well-known slogans of the time.
