President Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with the Vice-President of the USA Joseph Biden. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.

Poroshenko told Biden about the tense security situation on the administrative border with the Crimea and occupied Donbas, where militants continue to use heavy weapons is prohibited. The President also noted the large-scale military exercises of the aggressor country near the Russian-Ukrainian border.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of political and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-occupation of Crimea. Biden noted the consistent lack of recognition of the White house occupation of the Crimea.

Poroshenko and Biden stressed the importance to continue efforts, including within the Normandy format, with the aim of implementation by Russia of the Minsk agreements, in particular in the field of security.

The parties also discussed the importance of providing in the near future Ukraine IMF tranche and credit guarantee of the United States.

Yesterday, August 18, Poroshenko during communication with journalists in the Lviv region has declared that does not exclude the announcement of the mobilization and introduction of martial law in case of aggravation of the situation in the ATO zone and Crimea.
