President Petro Poroshenko has informed US Secretary of state Rex Tillerson about the unlocking process of creating an anti-corruption court. A telephone conversation Poroshenko with Tillerson took place today, 22 December, the press service of the AP.
The parties discussed the worsening situation in the Donbass due to the increase in the number of attacks by militants and “irresponsible withdrawal of the Russian officers from the Joint center for control and coordination of ceasefire in Donbass (SCCC).
Poroshenko and Tillerson have also coordinated their positions on the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass.
Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the extension of sanctions against Russia, a consistent Washington’s support for strengthening the defense of Ukraine and the UN resolution on Crimea. Tillerson stressed that the United States will continue to support Ukraine, reported the AP.
“The two sides also discussed the progress of Ukrainian reforms. The Ukrainian head of state was informed about the unblocking of the process of creating an anti-corruption court”, – is told in the message.
December 21, the Verkhovna Rada has opened the way for the new bill on anti-corruption court, said parliamentary bill No. 6011. Now Poroshenko may submit to the Parliament its draft law on the anti-corruption court.
