President Petro Poroshenko has posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine APU serviceman Alexander Kapuso. About this in his Twitter wrote the press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsigalko.
“The President presented the star of Hero of Ukraine Alexander Capucha parents, the deceased commander of razvedochnaya 128th mountain-infantry brigade,” wrote Tsigalko.
In his speech during the ceremony of presenting state awards to Ukrainian soldiers, Poroshenko said that Kapus died in February 2015, when his division defended the Ukrainian positions from Russian mercenaries.
“In the most difficult moment of the battle a group of the enemy threw a grenade, and Alexander did not hesitate, covered comrades, and he died. Positions were withheld,” he said.
May 15, Poroshenko signed a decree on conferring the title of Hero of Ukraine Crimean Tatar activist Reetu Ametova.
