Correspondents of the Russian propaganda channel Russia Today America (RT) was deprived of accreditation in the U.S. Congress. This was announced by Director of the Executive Committee of correspondents, radio and television in the us Congress Craig Kaplan, reports ABC News.

“The Executive Committee unanimously voted on November 21 to cancel the accreditation of the correspondent RT. This step was taken due to the fact that the Manager of an American branch of RT by T&R Productions is registered as a foreign agent in the United States,” reads the statement.

The report States that withdrawal of accreditation is effective immediately.

Kaplan stressed that the rules of the press galleries of the Congress makes it clear that accreditation cannot be granted to those who work for a foreign government or its representatives.
