The President of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin said that Russia is not against to bring in the Normandy format other countries, including the United States. He stated this on Thursday, 27th October, at the meeting of the international discussion club Valdai in Sochi, reports TASS.
“Yes, discussions are difficult, Yes, it is not very efficient, I will agree with that. But there is no other… whether you want to attract someone else? The Russian position is this: we are not against to attract anyone, including our American partners,” Putin said.
The Russian leader added that all negotiating parties have agreed that they will work in parallel with partners from the United States. “We consider, of course, the position of our American partners,” he said.
On 20 October in Berlin ended the talks between the leaders of the Normandy format with participation of President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and the head of the Russian Federation of Putin.
Meeting in Normandy format at the highest level has been conducted four times, at the level of foreign Ministers – nine times. The format of the Normandy Quartet was formed after a meeting in France in the summer of 2014.
