Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to send in the Donbass “blue helmets” of the UN. Agency Deutsche Welle on this occasion, published a cartoon by Sergei Elkin on a new peacekeeping role of the President of the aggressor country.

5 September 2017, Putin said that the presence of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass “would benefit the resolution of the conflict.” But then he said that in his understanding we are talking about “people who ensure the safety of the OSCE mission” and “must be on the boundary line and no other areas.”

The foreign Ministry recalled that in March 2015 President Petro Poroshenko has sent to the UN appeal on the deployment of Ukraine’s peacekeeping operations, but Russia is sabotaging this question in the security Council.
