YuMi – humanoid robot spent as conductor of the concert orchestra, the Italian Philharmonic with the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. On it informs Agency Reuters.
Two-armed robot made his debut at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, at the opening of the First International festival of robotics in Tuscany.
YuMi was conducted by three pieces, including the famous Aria La Donna e ‘Mobile from Verdi’s Rigoletto.
The robot demonstrated a variety of nuances in their movements and smoothness that was not characteristic of earlier robots.
YuMi, whose name derives from the phrase “you and I” in English, “taught” all the movements of the conductor Andrea Colombani. The robot can’t improvise, and any sudden change of tempo of the music would be disastrous.
4 September 2017, it was reported that scientists of the Japanese company Vincross has created a robot Hexa, which can be controlled via smartphone. Hexa programmed to recognize gestures and colors, and sees in the dark.
