Company Rosneft closed the deal to acquire the Italian Eni S. p.A 30% in a concession agreement to develop gas fields Zohr in the Mediterranean sea. About it reports a press-service of Rosneft.

The field was discovered in the 2015 Eni. It has an area of 231 sq km, geological reserves amount to more than 850 billion cubic meters.

The acquisition cost of shares of $1,125 billion. the Company will compensate Eni its share of historical costs incurred on the project.

“Rosneft is becoming a member of the project for the development of the largest gas fields in the deep offshore of Egypt along with the global majors and strategic partners of Rosneft – Eni (60% interest) and BP (10% share)”, – stated in the message.

As previously reported, the Chairman of the Board Director of Rosneft was the former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder.
