“Among the political prisoners of the Kremlin is the only student – Alexander Kolchenko, Ukrainian, student of the geography faculty of Taurida national University. Despite the fact that the Russian legislation allows part-time and distance learning, Alexander denied the fundamental right to education. Supposedly HPI is not present in the Russian Federation accreditation”, – she wrote.

This Gerashchenko said that not a single Russian University will not take on distance learning of the prisoner.

The representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian sub-group the Minsk process and urged the Ukrainian student organization with close contacts at the international level, to communicate the problem Kolchenko to students all over the world.

“The world must know that the Kremlin has enough young Ukrainians smuggled into their jail and leaves without a right to health care and education. Remember Alexander today. We should strengthen the collaboration with students around the world fighting for his release,” – said Gerashchenko.

She added that preparing for this occasion appeals to the Ombudsman Valeria Lutkovska and the OSCE. Also Gerashchenko intends to appeal to the Ministry of education with a request to appoint Kolchenko scholarships, which will help his family.
