The aggressor state Russia insists on the introduction in the Donbass UN peacekeeping force only after the withdrawal of the parties of the Kremlin’s conflict. This statement by the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made in an interview with Italian newspaper Libero, said the mouthpiece of the Kremlin propaganda RIA Novosti.

The Russian Minister recalled that, according to the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin, UN forces should ensure “the safety of the observers of the OSCE SMM” in the zone of separation of the parties, and patrolling other areas of conflict.

“The UN troops will be introduced into the conflict zone after the withdrawal of forces and means of the parties. The deployment of UN personnel must be coordinated with the authorities in Kiev and Donetsk and Lugansk,” Lavrov said.

Also the head of the Russian foreign Ministry insists on the Minsk agreements as the “basis of settlement” in the Donbass, and the continuation of talks within the trilateral contact group and the Normandy format.

November 28, 2017, the special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker said that Russia in the negotiations returned to the original concept of the use of peacekeepers in the Donbass as a guard force for the OSCE mission.
