South Korea will not possess nuclear weapons or develop them. This was stated by President moon Jae-In, reports Yonhap.

Moon noted that South Korea should be the Declaration of denuclearization, but with a nuclear weapon of North Korea cannot be tolerated.

The President of South Korea believes that the importance of sanctions. His main challenge, he said peace on the Korean Peninsula.

“We have to decide the fate of our nation. We will not repeat the unfortunate history of the destiny decided for us without our desire, as the Japanese colonial rule or split the country,” said moon.

On 23 October, the South Korean government announced plans to resume construction of two nuclear reactors in the South-West of the country.

On 4 September the Minister of defense of South Korea proposed to revise the possibility of re-deployment of tactical US nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula to protect it from conflict with the DPRK.
