On illegally detained in Russia Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko have a psychological pressure to plead guilty. About it the journalist’s lawyer mark Feigin told UKRINFORM.
“When I was last week released from Lefortovo, my client said, “Roman Vladimirovich, you need to think well, you “go” for 20 years or begin to cooperate with the investigation?”. What can I say. The investigation finishes its work and tries to jump into the last car, to obtaining a confession of guilt, to continue to act on “scheme Sharoika” (Paul Sharoika, Ukrainian journalist detained in Belarus on charges of espionage, and who allegedly admitted his guilt – ed.). But in our case will not be”, – said Feigin.
17 November 2017, it became known that in Belarus on charges of espionage detained the correspondent of the Ukrainian radio Paul Sharoika. The KGB said that he is a member of the Gur, “established intelligence network” from among the citizens of Belarus, “who for a reward followed their instructions to collect information of the nature of intelligence in the military-political sphere.”
Gur, the defense Ministry denied this information.
Belarus declared persona non grata by the counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine in Minsk Igor Skvortsov, who allegedly “coordinated” activities Sharoika. In response, Ukraine has sent one of employees of the Belarusian Embassy in Kiev.
Today Sharoika brought official charges of espionage.
