The Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine increased the forecast of the gross grain harvest in the current year to 64 million tons from 63 million tons this was announced by the head of the Department Taras Kutovoy, UNIAN reports.
“According to forecasts of the Ministry, we expect that this year we will have a record cereal production at 64 million tonnes with a preliminary yield of 44 t/ha. In General, this is the largest figure in the history of the state,” he said.
Kutovoi said that in Vinnytsia region agrarians harvested more than 5.4 million tons, Odessa – 4.5 million tonnes, Poltava and Kharkiv – about 4 million tons, Cherkasy – more than 3 million tons, Dnipropetrovsk – 3.7 million tons, Kirovohrad – 3.5 million tons and Kiev is 3 million tonnes.
Earlier, the Association Ukroliyaprom reported a record harvest of sunflower in Ukraine – 13,5 million tons (28% higher than in 2015).
