The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is investigating the case on the grounds of anticompetitive concerted actions on the market of liquefied gas. This was stated by the state Commissioner of the Committee Valery polyukhovich at the conference LPG Ukraine international conference 2017, according to EP.
Polyukhovich told about the main problems of functioning of market of liquefied gas and possible ways of their solution. “Liquefied natural gas market is functioning in difficult conditions. Import dependence, lack of infrastructure, the implementation of the shadow and the growing number of illegal gas modules will certainly affect the price situation on the market,” he said.
However, according to the official, given the stable growth in consumer demand for liquefied petroleum gas, does not exclude the influence of subjective factors on pricing, in particular, due to the possible coordination of competitive behavior between market participants.
“Now the Committee is responsible for the collection and analysis of evidence in the case on the grounds of anticompetitive concerted actions on the market of liquefied gas, including by conducting unscheduled inspections of market participants,” concluded the Plenipotentiary.
Recall that wholesale prices are pushing up quotes of LPG increased at the transition of the Brest-Malaszewicze, the largest quotation basis of the CIS. Traders note that the price growth is associated with a decrease in temperature, which caused the demand for propane in Poland on the eve of the start of the heating season.
