The Church of England should not change its stance against gay marriage, but she should learn “a new style of behavior and a culture of goodwill and support” in relations with gay men, says the report of the house of bishops. This is the BBC.

The bishops suggest the Church to abandon homophobia and also to Express dissatisfaction with the fact that many clergy do not support changes in the attitude of the Church towards gays.

The report is based on private conversations on the future policy of the Church of England in relation to sexuality, conducted within three years.

The report States that all candidates for ordination regardless of their sexual orientation, they ask questions about their sexual experience and lifestyle.

Now future priests ask these questions, but they are concentrated exactly on same-sex relations, not on matters of sexual morality. This reduces the effectiveness of these interviews, the authors of the report.

The LGBT community of Britain accepted a report of the bishops negatively because of the decision not to change the attitude towards marriage as a Union solely between a man and a woman.

The Christian movement of gays and lesbians has published an open letter, which claims that the report simply recommends that young priests-gays hide their orientation.

In the movement believe that the Church thus loses the ability to establish trust with the part of the parish.

The house of bishops is one of the three chambers of the General Cathedral – the Supreme body of governance of the Church of England. The General Council also included the House of clergy and House of laity.
